And they just keep rolling out, ladies and gentlemen!  This, along with the next several strips introduces a new character and some more backstory to the dark world of Anaconda Industries.  In case you can’t tell, I’ve been reading a lot of Proust recently.

Charles in Charge

June 28th, 2009

What we have here is a video of an incredibly attractive young man pouring out his heart and soul into a moving rendition of the epic theme song to that classic of American television known as “Charles in Charge.”  Watch it and shed a tear at the sheer beauty.

“It’s good for you” is just a polite way of saying, “It tastes like crap.”

What’s this?  A second issue on time?  Wowzers!  Just like last time, click the pic for a larger view.  And, in case you missed last week’s riveting epsiode, just click here for a refresher.  To move on to next issue, click here.

We’ll get out of the boss’s office soon.  I promise.

I don’t usually do portraits of other people’s creations.  That being said, I wondered what Stewie Griffin from Family Guy would grow up to look like.  Well, this is what I came up with.

Not a bright looking future, huh?

This, my friends, is a terrifying before and after look at our protagonist as an optimistic, straight-out-of-college young man on his first day of work.  The other side of the cup shows this same man as a haggard, world-weary, 3-year veteran of that same job which he had been so happy to have at one point in his life.

On a more techincal side, this is another striking example of the artists “two-sided cup” technique.

Before engaging MechaGodzilla in an argument, please realize that you can’t win and he will either eat you or burn you with his lasers.  Or both.

So make sure it’s really worth it.

Ok, so this is my first foray into the world of graphic novelature.  Go easy on me.  I have big plans for this series, but it’ll take a while to get there.  The plan is to release a new strip on a semi-weekly basis, so stay tuned.

True Story

June 13th, 2009

I once lost my left arm in a game of poker.  Luckily, one of my friends is a cybernetics expert in Reno.  He was able to attach a robotic arm that has a laser pointer in the index finger.

Unfortunately, I lost that in a game of Go-Fish last night.  So now I’m typing all of this very slowly with one hand.

The Asylum

June 6th, 2009

Last night, Mrs. Gimo brought back a movie from the RedBox. She was so excited because she knew it was a movie I would like to see. And she was right, but for the wrong reasons. The movie? The Day the Earth Stopped NOT starring Keanu Reeves. This gem of a movie is one of many exceedingly low budget attempts to capitalize on a blockbuster movie. The studio in question is The Asylum and they apparently make a lot of bank duping the well-meaning wives of movie geeks the world over. A random sampling of their other movies: Transmorphers, The 18 Year Old Virgin, 100 Million BC, AVH: Alien vs. Hunter, Snakes on a Train…the list goes on.

Click the jump for more on this classy film. (more…)
